Hero Cape

The rule is a sequence, not a store SKU. Play Minecraft Dungeons. Then log into Minecraft Dungeons II on the same Microsoft account. Finish that before 31 December 2026. The cape also appears in Minecraft Java & Bedrock, so the reward is not trapped inside the dungeon crawler.

You do not have to own either dungeon game if you join a friend’s co-op session on that Microsoft account. That FAQ line is the catch for Game Pass households and for players who only drop in. Hosting still follows the edition you bought.

Game Pass play qualifies. If Standard Edition is running through Game Pass on Xbox or Windows, the cape path still counts. Deluxe is irrelevant to this promo: Deluxe’s cape is the Soul cape, paid separately. The Java & Bedrock copy of the cape uses the same Microsoft account, so one login sequence feeds both the dungeon crawler and those editions.

The deadline is a calendar date, not a season pass tier. After 31 December 2026 the captured FAQ no longer treats the Hero Cape as an open unlock. Do the play-then-login steps while the window is open on that Microsoft account.

Steam’s Hero Cape news post matches the about-page FAQ on the same date. If a later official post moves the window, that post will need a new row. The launch deadline remains 31 December 2026 until a newer official post names a different day.

Java & Bedrock delivery is part of the same promo, not a second deadline. Once the dungeon-crawler steps succeed, the cape is also supposed to show in those editions of Minecraft. There is no separate Java coupon or Bedrock store code in the captured FAQ; the Microsoft account is the whole pipeline. Finish the dungeon-crawler login before the last day of December 2026, then check Java and Bedrock on that account.

Pre-order bonuses were the Twisted Cape, the Twisted Chicken pet, and two hero skins. Capes & Promos says they are no longer available through purchase. If you missed pre-order, Deluxe will not sell you that Twisted bundle.

Twisted Chicken is named as a soul-infused pet beside the Twisted Cape. It cannot be split out of that closed bundle. Treat it as history unless you already own it. Deluxe will not restore that chicken, the Twisted Cape, or the two pre-order skins. Keep them only if the pre-order already granted them on that Microsoft account before launch day.

Corrupted Creeper Cape is a different row: a promo or special event reward named on the same Capes & Promos article. It is not the Hero Cape and not the Soul cape. Watch official Minecraft.net event posts for that one before treating that cape as live. No store SKU currently lists it next to Deluxe.

Deluxe Edition is where the Soul cape, Blub, and four Fancy Hero skins live. Buy Deluxe or the $19.99 upgrade if you want those. They do not replace the Hero Cape promo.

Blub cannot fight. Official copy is explicit. Equip it as a companion, not as a twelfth combat slot. Combat slots stay on the gear page.

If you only want the launch cape that celebrates the first game, skip Deluxe and run the Hero Cape steps. If you want the soul-themed Deluxe look, pay for Deluxe and still run the Hero Cape steps if you want both capes.

Soul cape, Blub, and four Fancy Hero skins live on Deluxe Edition or the $19.99 upgrade. Blub is a companion that cannot fight and does not take a combat slot. Pay for Deluxe if you want those cosmetics; run the Hero Cape steps if you want the launch promo cape that celebrates the first game.
